Luis Javier Cuesta


BA in Art History.  Doctor in Art History from the University of Salamanca. Director of the Art Department at Universidad Iberoamericana since 2012. Full time professor in the Art Department at Universidad Iberoamericana since 2002. Professor in the Master in Architectural Restoration of the School of Restoration at the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) since 1999. Visiting scholar in the Chair Mexique at the University of Toulouse-Mirail, France, among others.

He currently participates in various research projects, author of several books, chapters in collective books, eleven articles in scientific journals, and twenty papers in specialized congresses in Mexico, Europe, North America and Latin America. He regularly gives lectures at universities in Mexico and abroad.

His areas of specialization are viceregal art and architecture, theory of architecture, relations between literature and architecture, ephemeral architecture, relations between European art and American art.
