Harold Vásquez


Economist, educator and researcher, he has a degree in Economics from Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Master in Finance from Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, Spain. Master in Economics and Doctor in Economics from Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Georgia State University (GSU).

He was an intern at the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank, Research Economist of the Center for Economic Forecasts of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at GSU. Deputy Director for Research of the International Department at the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic. Professor and researcher in the School of Economics at INTEC, Research Director of Fundación Empírica, a non-profit institution dedicated to the training and promotion of knowledge in the areas of economics and finance. He has published research on economic issues in national and international journals such as Science and Society, EconSouth, Monetaria and Oeconomia.

His passion for teaching economics led him to produce “Sports Economics”, a radio show, which airs weekly on ESPN Radio 104.5 FM. Collaborator in the blog of Fundación Empírica and in the economy pages of the daily newspaper Diario Libre.
