Carolina Guerrero


Carolina Guerrero has a PhD in Political Science from Universidad Central de Venezuela. She is a Professor at Universidad Simón Bolivar (Caracas, Venezuela) where she coordinates the postgraduate studies in Political Science and was the co-creator of the area of ​​Political Theory. Her research focuses on political liberalism and republicanism from three stances: political philosophy, history of ideas and political theory, inquiring also in the critique of neo-Marxist political thought, the return of politics, radical democracy and event theories in politics. She was a researcher for the History of Ideas Unit at the Institute of Advanced Studies, IDEA; of the Rómulo Gallegos Latin American Studies Center, CELARG, and of the Manuel García-Pelayo Foundation. She is the author of more than 40 academic publications. In 2017 she received the Charles L. Stillman Academic Prize from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala for her written essay.
