Associate Professor of Economics and Director of the BB&T Center for Undergraduate Research in Public Policy and Capitalism at Mercer University. Ph.D. and M.S. in Economics from Arizona State University, M.A. in Economics and Public Policy from Georgetown University and B.S. in Economics from the Bolivian Catholic University.
Prior to joining Mercer University, he held academic appointments at Arizona State University, American University of Sharjah and Georgia State University. He has also held consulting appointments at Deloitte & Touche, the Dubai Economic Council and the Latin American Institute of Development and Social Studies in Chile, among others.
His work focuses on teaching, doing research and blogging in the areas of institutional economics, political economy and the foundations of capitalism and economic freedom. He is a frequent speaker at academic seminars, conferences and industry events in the US and abroad.
