PhD in Architecture from Universidad Europea in Madrid; Diplome des Etudes Approfondies (D.E.A.) in Medieval History from Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris; BA in History of Art and Archeology from Université de Paris I, Panthéon-La Sorbonne; Historian, Especialist in Arqueology; university professor of History and Architecture; Museologist.
From 2013 he is the program Director of Exploraciones sobre la Historia from Universidad Francisco Marroquín, UFM, in Guatemala, a program centered in the investigation and development of cultural heritage (exploraciones.ufm.edu) and from 2016 Director of the PhD program.
Between 2006 and 2012, he was a professor in Universidad Europea in Madrid where he was the first Director of the Department of Urbanism and History and then Academic Director, both in the School of Architecture (uem.es).
He is a part of GEA Consulting, a company specialized in the management of historical heritage.
From 2003 to 2006, he worked in the Cultural Heritage Program at Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo, first in Madrid, later Jerusalem and then again Madrid. From 1999 to 2002, he was a professor at UFM in Guatemala, and General Secretary in the extension in the city of Quetzaltenango. Between 1998 and 1999, he was responsible of the archeological deposit of the Louvre Museum, under the direction of Genevieve Bresc. From 1989 to 2012 he participated in numerous archeological projects in Spain, France, Italy, Oman and Yemen and Iraq.
