Joaquín Azpitarte has a PhD in Economics from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid. He is an Industrial Organization Engineer from Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña and a Technical Architect from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Master in Economics from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Master in Project Management from La Salle Barcelona and Real Estate Valuation from Universidad Europea de Madrid. He develops his professional activity in the Department of Urban Planning of the City Council of Tías, Las Palmas, Spain, as Director of Building Projects, as a teacher and as a researcher. He has been a visiting professor at the universities of New York and Hong Kong.
His fields of research are urban planning, economics, business and law. He is a member of Instituto Juan de Mariana and a deep admirer of the Universidad Francisco Marroquín.
