PhD and M. A. in History from Florida State University. He is an assistant research professor in the McDonough School of Business at George Mason University. Director of the Georgetown Institute for the Study of Market and Ethics. Interdisciplinary historian, influenced by scholars in fields as diverse as economics, folklore and ethics. His research as a historian has focused on the 19th Century U.S. History, the Dutch World, and Philosophy and Methods of History.
In addition to his research and teaching, Dr. Douma is active in public history projects in the realms of historic preservation and folklore.
