Vicente E. Caballo


Vicente E. Caballo holds a PhD in Psychology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and currently serves as Professor of Psychopathology at the University of Granada (Spain).

He is the founder and president of Asociación Psicológica Iberoamericana de Clínica y Salud (APICSA) (www.apicsa.org) and founder and director of Centro de Psicología Clínica FUNVECA in the city of Granada, Spain (www.funveca.org).

Founder and director of the research group Avances en Psicopatología y Terapia de Conducta (APYTEC) associated to the University of Granada and recognized by the Junta de Andalucía. He is also the founder and director of the magazine Behavioral Psychology/Psicología Conductual (Revista Internacional de Psicología Clínica y de la Salud) (www.psicologiaconductual.com), the journal of clinical psychology in Spanish with the highest impact factor in the Journal Citation Index (JCR; Thomson Reuters, 2016).

He has written or directed 18 books (with several translations into Portuguese or English), among which are the Manual of Psychopathology and Psychological Disorders (Pirámide, 2014), the Manual of Therapy Techniques and Behavior Modification (Siglo XXI, 1993), The Handbook of Personality Disorders (Síntesis, 2009), the Manual for the Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment of Psychological Disorders (Siglo XXI, 1997/2008, 2 vols.)  or the Social Skills Assessment and Training Handbook (Siglo XXI, 1997), frequent textbooks used in graduate and postgraduate studies in Psychology.

He has published over 200 papers (many of which can be found at www.researchgate.net),  presented more than 280 reports to congresses and delivered more than 100 lectures, seminars and workshops in different countries. He has also been a Visiting Researcher at the University of Boston (BU), USA and has received several awards and distinctions in different countries.

His main lines of research currently focus on social anxiety, personality disorders, social skills and bullying.
